About Hypnosis
Hypnosis
"Hypnosis is a scientifically verified and effective technique that can promote accelerated human change."
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation achieved through techniques to open the part of your mind that is highly responsive to suggestions enabling one to remove existing negative programming and replace it with a better choice. Hypnotherapists are trained to deliver positive suggestions through stories, guided imagery, and direct and indirect suggestions for rapid change. Often small changes occur without your conscious awareness and you only notice the change after the fact. If you've never experienced hypnosis before, you will be pleasantly surprised at how relaxing and rejuvenating the experience is. Many people who achieve medium to deep trance feel so good they cannot wait for their next session because they say "I have not been that relaxed in years."
What is Self Hypnosis?
Your practitioner will teach you self hypnosis and, with practice, you yourself will be able to enter trance relatively quickly. Once you have practiced this skill you can focus on achieving your goals and tackling life challenges. Remember, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Your Hypnotherapist is merely a facilitator. Once you understand the mechanics of trance, you can do self-hypnosis anywhere, even in a busy market.
What can I expect from my sessions?
You will be guided through phases of relaxation while in a comfortable chair. You will be wearing headphones, listening to relaxing music, and your practitioner’s voice. Every phase of your session will be explained to you thoroughly. As long as you want to change a behavior and you are motivated , then you will absolutely reach your goal.
Will I be able to remember my sessions?
Most people remember all of their session. You will be prompted at the end of each relaxation technique to recall everything that was said and a CD recording will be given to you so that you can reinforce all your work at home.
Will I be asleep?
No. Hypnosis is not sleep but a heightened sense of awareness. You may feel a tingling sensation, a lightness, a heaviness, or even a deeper sense of self during the session. All of these feelings are individual and are perfectly normal. You don’t have to be in a deep trance for hypnotherapy to be effective. Many clients describe their experience as a type of meditaion.
Is it possible to be stuck in a Hypnotic state?
No. You are in control of your session. Even when deep trance is utilized you always have the option to bring yourself out. Hypnosis is completely safe.
Will I reveal any secrets?
Only those you want to reveal to yourself. It is still possible to lie under hypnosis!
Will I cluck like a chicken or quack like a duck the way I have seen on Youtube?
Only if you want to! The people you see on Youtube volunteer for stage hypnosis so if you really WANT to be proficient in making animal noises or speaking martian, then you may certainly suggest acquiring that skill to your practitioner!
How many sessions will it take?
As each person and the cause of their problem is unique, the number of sessions required depends entirely on the individual case. Typically, a complete and permanent cure can be achieved within 3* sessions, whereas some people may need more. Successful therapy requires a commitment to treatment and a desire to change. Goals can be achieved more quickly when clients are reinforcing their treatment at home through self-hypnosis techniques taught during the session.
How long does a session last?
All curative hypnotherapy sessions last for approximately an hour. The initial consultation can take up to 90 minutes. At the end of your treatment process you will receive a personalized hypnotic CD in order to reinforce the hypnotic state and rapidly reach your permanent desired goal.
How long before I feel better?
Each person is different. Most clients feel better after their very first session. Three sessions are recommended, however there are certain goals which can be reached in one session and others which may require 6 to 8 sessions. Teaching and reinforcing techniques is up to the client and the teaching of your practitioner. Thoughtful goal setting is individually based on the client’s motivation.
What can effectively be treated with Hypnotherapy?
"Most of us would like to think that our actions and reactions are as a result of conscious, logical thought processes. But the largest and most dominant part of our mind is the subconscious. Although the conscious mind might appear to "call the shots", it is in fact heavily influenced by the desires of the subconscious, determining not only our behavior and emotions, but also pain and illness."
That is why you can rationalize the need to remain calm, stop smoking, eat less etc., but if the subconscious does not want you to change, it will perpetuate your problem. It is why many people feel like they "fail" in traditional psychotherapy. It is as if there is a REAL dragon to slay but you are armed with a toy sword. Illogical thought cannot be changed through logical process.
Hypnotherapy gets around your conscious mind and talks directly to your subconscious which is the real decision maker. Symptoms could be habitual, behavioral, emotional or even physical. It would be impossible to list all of the symptoms that can be successfully treated by Hypnotherapy, so the following is just an example.
